Children in Care and Care Leavers Team

Are you passionate about championing the well-being and aspirations of children and young people in care? Do you believe in empowering care leavers to thrive as they transition to independence?
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker to join our Children in Care & Care Leavers Team. In this rewarding role, you will play a vital role in safeguarding and supporting children and young people, ensuring they have the best possible opportunities to reach their full potential.
What You'll Do - Key Responsibilities:
For Children in Care:

  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with children in care, providing a consistent source of support and guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to create and implement individualised care plans that promote well-being and positive outcomes.
  • Work to ensure children are placed in safe, nurturing, and stable environments that meet their individual needs. Advocate for their rights and ensure their voices are heard.
  • Support positive and meaningful contact between children in care and their families, where appropriate and in the best interests of the child.


For Care Leavers:

  • Guide and support care leavers (ages 16-25) as they transition to adulthood, assisting them in accessing housing, education, employment, and other essential services.
  • Work collaboratively with young people to create personalised pathway plans outlining their goals, aspirations, and the steps needed to achieve them.
  • Be a consistent and reliable presence in the lives of care leavers, offering guidance, advocacy, and support as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of adulthood.


Who You Are:

  • A qualified and registered Social Worker: You hold a recognised social work qualification and are registered with [Your Country's Regulatory Body - e.g., Social Work England].
  • Experienced in working with children in care: You have a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and experience working directly with children in care and care leavers.
  • An effective communicator and collaborator: You build strong relationships with young people, families, and professionals, communicating effectively and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes.
