We have an AMAZING opportunity for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join an OUTSTANDING rated 4- bed children's residential service in Hereford, Herefordshire, supporting young people between the ages of 14-17with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
You will be committed, passionate and able to engage, encourage and mentor the young people, whilst having a whole lot of fun! Getting paid to play computer games, have movie nights & do arts and crafts
**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence and a car**
Overview:
Title: Children's Residential Support Worker
Salary: £27,336 - £30,336 (sleep allowance included)
Location: Herefordshire
Hours: Full-time,39 hours per week (169 hours a month) Part- time hours are also available

The role:
What you will be doing as a Childrens Residential Support Worker
To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
Provide support for the children and young people in the home and to promote their independence and well-being.
Maintain a safe environment for young people.
Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
Supporting poor behaviour safely and sympathetically.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
The successful candidate:
What you will need to be a successful Children's Residential Support Worker
Experience as a Children's Support Worker, or within a similar social care setting or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
MUST be a driver as you will be required to transport the young people from time to time
You must be over the age of 21
You MUST be an empathetic and relatable person, have good listening and communication skills, and a natural instinct to help others
