Class 1+ HIAB - Relief Driver

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Class 1 + HIAB driver to join our client’s team as a Logistics Relief Driver – This position plays a crucial role, ensuring that the fleet has full utilisation whilst transporting modular structures: and temporary storage & accommodation units, you will be utilised to cover any vacancies, holiday, training, etc. of branch lorry loader and tanker drivers. This is a varied role that will require nights away and weekend travel, depending on appointment.

You will be working for a company with proven success in the modular building and building for hire industry. The no.1 industry leader provides all kinds of temporary and permanent buildings to a multitude of clients in the U.K and across the world.
Full Time Monday to Friday Position, with 45 Hours per work. Pay Rate: £19 per hour



Temporary to start, with option to go permanant for the right candidate



As a Class 1 + HIAB Lorry Loader you are required to:




  • Hold a Valid Class 1 HGV Driving Licence with DCPC.

  • Have Experience operating a lorry loader crane (31-66 mt).

  • Have Experience with wagon and drag combinations.

  • Tanker/waste management experience is preferred, but this is not essential as full training is provided.

  • CPCS and/or ALLMI lorry loader operator qualification.

  • Flexible and business oriented.

  • Be a team player with strong communication skills.

  • Be a knowledgeable Advocate for absolute safety.

  • Committed to a high standard of customer service.

  • Flexible with appointments, willing to travel and adapt to changes.





Your responsibilities in the role will be:




  • Deliver products and services on time and in full (OTIF), reporting issues promptly.

  • Follow planned routes and movement orders.

  • Optimize loading/unloading times to complete all tasks.

  • Meet requirements for moving abnormal loads.

  • Adhere to scheduled loading/delivery times and customer requirements.

  • Operate a lorry loader crane in various conditions.

  • Work within the Tanker team to handle customer service calls.

  • Perform safety checks on allocated vehicles/equipment, reporting issues immediately to ensure compliance.

  • Follow EU driving hours and Working Time Regulations (WTD), aiming for zero infringements.
