Role Summary What we are looking for is an experienced Customer Engineer or Client CTO, who brings with them a people centric approach to leadership, hands on delivery background, strong stakeholder management and pre-sales experience to focus on predominantly retail banking, but also covering other markets, when required. You will work directly with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to help drive the tech strategy for the retail banking business, ensuring solutions and offers we build reflect business value in that sector. You will act as both the technology and business expert, leading pre-sales engagements and over-seeing projects, enabling opportunities for revenue growth and supporting the team to increase market share. Additionally, you will own the technology relationship with the CSPs for sales opportunities in the relevant market sector. Role Responsibilities Provide technical eminence and leadership in sales Own technical solutions as part of all pre-sales engagements in the retail banking sector and be the approver for any deviation from initial design through build, acting in part as a project chief architect. Create re-usable workshop material to support the sales and delivery processes Identify market specific challenges and opportunities that will help us build relevant world class offerings Inform the development and acquisition of future skills in service of the business strategy Accountable for optimizing the services, influencing the customer experience and mitigating business risk in your portfolio C-suite stakeholder management and engagement, build strong relationships with key stakeholders with clients, partners and globally within GFT Drive GFT tech brand in the retail banking market Represent GFT as an external speaker in industry events and writes white papers and articles Keep track of technology trends in the industry and with partners to identify competitive advantages Responsible for ensuring client success stories, testimonials and CSP specific audit templates are created for FSI sector projects to help drive cloud partner accreditations. Act as the technical bridge and project oversight between clients, sales and delivery, owning the accountability for the client solutions, ensuring that project outcomes align with client expectations Help align the UK approach, assets and sector relevant information with other GFT regional offices Leadership Champion the GFT culture internally and externally Act as a mentor to team members Act as part of the GFT cloud leadership teams Help sales teams create go to market strategies aligning opportunities with GFT offers Work with partners to create a wider portfolio of services that can be presented to clients Competencies and Skills Needed Demonstrable experience as a senior technologist for a technology or consulting organisation Extensive experience in providing strong technical leadership with a background in solution or enterprise architecture Experience working on programmes that involved key core banking platforms; Thought Machine, Mambu, 10x or working on key payment platforms like Volante, Swift etc. Ability to think more broadly and holistically about how to drive change Ability to successfully bridge the gap between different agendas and functions Background in manufacturing and industry, or within a service provider covering that sector Strategic thinking-ability to develop and execute the company tech strategy Strong team player and collaborator Technical skills need to be current, including extensive cloud knowledge in all 3 major cloud vendors. Experience with Partner management and aligning both technical and marketing strategies. Mandatory Skills: Experience at Cx or senior management level, leading multiple teams in both software development and infrastructure services. Capable of creating a technical strategy to establish a platform for industry leading sales offers A minimum of 3 years working on cloud projects in a leadership capacity. Track record at winning large bids/tenders, with contribution in both sales and technical aspects. Strong public speaker, with a high level of competence in PowerPoint.
