Cloud Architect (Azure, VMWare) - Glasgow Hybrid - Circa 100K plus Flexible Benefits
Hybrid working - 3 days per week mainly at the Glasgow office, or occasionally working from one of their datacentres or client sites, rest of the week working from home
Role Overview:
Lorien's client - a leading provider of managed hosting, cloud & transformation services with a reach across the UK and beyond - is seeking a skilled Cloud Architect to design and develop cutting-edge Cloud Architecture that drives an innovative and market-leading cloud product portfolio.
Reporting to the Chief Technical Architect, you will develop a comprehensive Cloud Architecture strategy that aligns with their goal of being the UK's leading secure cloud service provider. You'll be a trusted go-to SME in the cloud domain as you collaborate with key stakeholders, and design scalable and secure solutions - ensuring that cloud architecture remains Agile, cost-effective, and fit for purpose.
You'll act in a vital capacity; offering technical leadership as you guide Cloud Engineering personnel, identifying new trends and technologies to help further shape and improve core cloud offerings, drive the adoption of best practices in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and automated release management, and both identify and mitigate relevant risks along the way.

About You:
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring proven experience as a Cloud Architect or in a similar post, ideally within a managed service provider, enterprise, or technology provider setting.
You'll have a strong grasp of enterprise architecture principles and Cloud platforms, specifically including Azure and VMware, complemented by your strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
You'll have a robust educational background, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/related field, coupled with a proven background in Cloud Architecture
Additionally, you’ll hold certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solution Architect Expert/VMware Cloud Management & Automation, among others, and have or at least be be eligible for SC Clearance.
You are someone who can think strategically, who also has the hands-on technical expertise to propose and implement innovative solutions.
You'll bring to the table a proven ability to work at the strategic level and use your expertise to influence decisions and stakeholders alike
You'll be able to translate technical concepts and ideas to business-side personnel or less technical contacts
You'll have a eagerness to mentor/knowledge share while promoting team-improving initiatives
