The responsibilities for the Cloud Architect include designing and developing the overall Cloud Architecture, ensuring it supports an innovative, competitive, and market-leading Cloud Product offer. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong communication and will be focused on optimizing our client’s technology landscape and delivering measurable business value.What you will do: Cloud Architecture Strategy & Principles: Develop an overall Cloud Architecture Strategy ensuring in supports the strategy to be the UK’s Leading Secure Cloud Service providerDesign and maintain the key Cloud Architecture principles as part of an architectural frameworkCollaborate with senior stakeholders to influence decision making, ensuring Cloud architectural strategies are integratedCloud Architecture Design & Deploy: Design comprehensive, scalable, and secure Cloud architecture that addresses requirements, leveraging both cloud and on-premises infrastructures.Working collaboratively with colleagues identifies opportunities to improve Cloud ArchitectureActive and key member of Technology Technical Design AuthorityCollaborate with the CISO to design good practice security standards in the Cloud ArchitectureDocument as-is Cloud architecture:Document and maintain good practice architecture standards for the to-be Cloud ArchitectureCollaborate with the CTA and Cloud Product manager on Cloud Architecture and how it will support Cloud Product offering in the marketEngage and guide the Cloud engineering teams to uphold architectural standards in relation to build and maintenance of the Cloud architecturePlay a key role in steering any new Cloud architecture deployment or upgradesCloud Technology Market & Competitor Evaluation:Stay abreast of emerging Cloud technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential to enhance our service offerings and recommending adoption where appropriate.Ongoing awareness and review of key competitors Cloud ArchitectureWork collaboratively with our Cloud Technology partners to understand roadmaps and reference architecture to ensure we adopt to maintain relevant and supported offeringsCloud Architecture Risk Management:Identify potential technical risks with current Cloud Architecture and devise mitigation strategies and roadmapAssist CTA and CTO with the development of any investment cases for the Cloud ArchitectureCloud Architecture Technical Leadership:Provide technical guidance and leadership to colleagues, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards. In particular in collaboration with the Cloud Product Manager and Cloud engineering teamsProvide Cloud Architect technical expertise:Work with the Cloud engineering teams to further adopt DevOps, infrastructure as Code and automated release management Skills and experience:Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role.Deep knowledge of Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, VMWare, OnApp), enterprise architecture, and Cloud integration.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to guide and mentor technical teams.Strong documentation and knowledge transfer abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Eligibility for SC Clearance (5 years UK residence).Microsoft Certified Azure Solution Architect Expert.VMWare Cloud Management & Automation certifications (VCP/VCDX/VCAP Design & Deploy).VMWare Data Centre Virtualisation certifications (VCP/VCAP Design & Deploy or VCDX).VMWare Certified Specialist – vRealize Operations (Desirable).Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) (Desirable).Certified Cloud Architect (CCA) (Desirable).Employment TypeFull-time, Permanent
