Position: Cloud Data Platform Lead / Platform Owner
Location: Primarily remote, with occasional travel to Ireland (3-4 times per year)

My client is looking for an experienced professional to take charge of their Cloudera CDP platform, which is currently operational but has not yet been adopted by consumers. This position requires overseeing and expanding the platform, ensuring it meets the highest standards of security, integration, and performance. As a senior-level role, the ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader, capable of driving platform growth and adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the Cloudera CDP platform, including Kafka, HBase, and Phoenix, within an AWS environment.
Ensure platform security, scalability, continuous integration, and performance.
Evaluate and onboard new technologies to enhance functionality.
Partner with an engineering team to maintain SLAs and optimize system efficiency.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure platform development aligns with business needs.
Lead efforts to integrate a consumer into the platform by year-end.
Transition platform ownership from external partners to an in-house team.
Maintain 24/7 operational readiness, ensuring rapid response to any issues.
Candidate Profile:
Demonstrated experience in managing and leading data platforms.
Expertise in Cloudera CDP (Kafka, HBase, Phoenix).
Strong background in cloud computing, particularly AWS.
Ability to balance technical knowledge with stakeholder engagement.
Prior experience in both vendor and industry settings is a plus.
Looking for long-term commitment - not suitable for contractors or frequent job changers.
Interview Process:
Initial screening call.
Technical interview covering Cloudera expertise (1-hour session, including some HR aspects, possibly involving the Programme Lead).
Final stage (if necessary), which may include an Architect interview.
Compensation & Benefits:
Car Allowance: �5,250 per annum (paid monthly and subject to tax).
Pension: 11% employer contribution, 2.5% employee contribution.
Annual Bonus: Up to 10%, dependent on company and individual performance.
