Cloud Solution Architect Contract: permanent Working hours: 35 hours per week is full time. Where possible, we are open to considering part time/flexible working patterns. Salary: Circa £85,000 Reporting to: Chief Architect London docklands Our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office. This is an exciting opportunity to take business problems, challenges and desired outcomes and translate them into technology solution vision. Our cloud solution architects are a bridge between what is needed and how it can be achieved. The architecture team is responsible for delivering solutions based upon agreed standards and principles whilst also identifying, assessing, and including emerging technology, ensuring the organisation can provide an excellent service to its customers. This pivotal role requires the ability to quickly understand existing, new and emerging technology and enable their use to achieve business goals - including applications, data and infrastructure. The role works alongside Technical/Domain Architects, Technology SME's, Business Analysts, Platform Owners and Project Managers to deliver change to our organisation. Key responsibilities Leading the design and development of cloud-based architectures. Facilitating the adoption of industry relevant standards relating to Cloud services Designing solutions to technology and business problems in association with peers aligning to departmental standards such as security and data protection Delivery of cost-optimised, secure and performant solutions across the entire IT landscape and Input to overall IT strategy, combining your own roadmaps with that of other technology teams. Working within a distributed architecture team, delivering high quality artefacts relating to the delivery of both component and system wide architectures Identifying opportunities for improvements Working directly with technology owners, product owners and business leaders to deliver solutions to our customers Providing technical expertise to the Technical Design Authority, Hot house and change advisory board groups Working collaboratively to assess the potential impact of a range of different solutions Taking personal responsibility for delivering on your objectives in line with our values To be considered for this role, you ll need to show us that you ve got the skills and capabilities. You ll have to meet the following minimum criteria: Minimum Criteria An excellent understanding and experience of delivering complex cloud-based architectures (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS across Microsoft, Amazon and Workday clouds) as well as an excellent understanding of cloud and traditional based security concepts to support the secure nature of solutions required At least five years of architecture design, implementation, and or/support of highly distributed applications Strong experience with on-premises infrastructure as well as public and hybrid cloud methodologies Significant experience with serverless and cloud native technologies as well as configuration management technologies Significant experience with software development lifecycles, software development, or infrastructure for supporting software Significant knowledge and experience in design and implementation of highly scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructures and applications Hands on experience and knowledge of Azure IaaS and PaaS Microsoft Cloud (Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365) IaC (Bicep, ARM and Terraform) Automation technologies DevOps processes and tools Configuration Management Identity and authentication technologies and methods Ability to communicate technical concepts and analytical outputs to a diverse set of stakeholders.
