CNC Machinist

What will you be doing?
Shift work, Monday to Friday, 06.00 - 14.00 for two weeks, followed by 14.00 - 22.00 for two weeks
Setting and operating of CNC Machining centres and Cutting Tools to proveout first off and production
Regular maintenance of CNC machines
Ensuring production of quality parts and tools specific to engineering drawings and client standards
Safely load and unload raw materials into the CNC machines
Escalate any issues with NC tool paths to the responsible CAM programmer/Linemanager
Running artefacts in response to tool breakages. Interpret, & understand kinematics
Supporting production engineers and machinists, by setting up new tools andcreating datum reference points to ensure smooth running of the machine
Experienced required for this exciting CNC Machinist role:
Apprentice trained in mechanical engineering (or equivalentexperience)
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawingsand specifications
In-depth knowledge and experience in operating CNCmachines (ideally producing metal components)
Understanding CNC milling strategies and an understanding of speed, tool paths,and other factors
Practical knowledge of measuring tools, equipment, andconcepts
Solid understanding of machining parameters, able to confidently diagnose and rectify production issues alongside CAM Programmers
Experience in setting & operating CNC machines, includinginstalling workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools
Ability to select and install appropriate cutting tools, toolholders, and fixtures for the machining process
