Position: CNC Operative

Salary: £14ph

Location: Barnsley area

Role: Permanent position – 6am – 14:30 with rota nights 16:00 – 02:30. First 8-12 weeks regular days

We are currently assisting with the recruitment of CNC Operators for a long-standing client of ours in the Barnsley area. This will be a permanent position and the candidate will be joining a close nit team working on the fabrication of metals following specifications.

The CNC Operator will need experience on:

• CNC press brake,


• CNC laser,


• CNC punch.

This role offers opportunities for advancement into CNC programming and other technical skills through on-the-job training.

Main Duties for the CNC Operative:

• Operate CNC press brake, laser cutter, and punch machines safely and efficiently in line with company policies and procedure.


• Be able to read engineering drawings and specifications


• Perform set-up and calibrate machines to ensure optimal operation.


• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to uphold machine performance and product quality.


• Monitor machine performance, including tool wear and quality control, and make necessary adjustments


• Familiarity with machine programming and setting up - desirable.


• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues.


• Excellent attention to detail and quality consciousness to ensure precision fabrication.


• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in the fabrication of metal components, is preferred.

Advanced experience in operating at least one of the following machines:

• Press brake,


• CNC laser,


• CNC punch.
