CNC Setter/Operator

Job Title: CNC Setter (Hurco Machines)

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £16 - £18.50 per hour

Shift Patterns: 07:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday 07:30-12:30 Friday (Flexibility to work 06:00 - 14:00 or 14:00 - 22:00 for cover is needed)

Brief description of responsibilities:

• Setting, operating, and editing basic programmes that run off a Microsoft system.
• Working on milling and turning machines and other conventional tooling when required.
• Training operators to upskill them to setters.
• Completing first-offs and in-cycle inspections.
• Perform regular machine maintenance.
• Monitor and control the machining process to maintain product quality.
• Keeping accurate records.
• Producing between 4-10 parts per hour.
• Reading drawings and job cards.

Requirements:

• Preferably experienced in VMC and VMG Hurco Machinery.
• Experienced in tool changes.
• Must be confident to train other members of staff.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement processes is a plus.
