Job Title: CNC Turner (Mazak) - 2 Shift Pattern

Location: Durham
Salary: £17.00 - £20.00 per hour (DOE) + 20% Shift Allowance
Hours: 2 Shift Pattern (36.33 hours per week)
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x the standard rate, frequently available

Our client, a highly respected engineering company in Durham, is seeking skilled professionals to work with state-of-the-art Mazak CNC Lathes. Key Responsibilities:

• Program, set, and operate Mazak CNC Lathes (18” and 10” chuck, no barfeed).
• Manufacture high-precision components from billet workpieces to exacting tolerances.
• Select appropriate tooling and perform self-inspections to ensure accuracy within +/- 0.01 to +/- 0.25mm.
• Work independently, handling complex technical products with minimal supervision.
• Maintain and follow safety standards and company policies.
• Complete required documentation, including timesheets.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Time-served CNC Turner with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience working on billet components.
• Proficient in programming and operating Mazak CNC Lathes.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working with various materials including steel, stainless steel, and superalloys.
• Ability to work flexibly across different shifts and take on overtime when needed.
• Excellent communication skills and a solid engineering background.

Shift Pattern:

• Early Shift: 6am – 2pm (Mon-Thurs), 6am – 12pm (Fri)
• Late Shift: 2pm – 11:25pm (Mon-Thurs)
• Total: 36.33 hours per week
