Job Summary:
The Coded Welder will be responsible for performing welding tasks for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various pipework installations, systems and boiler insurance inspection repairs. The ideal candidate will have experience in various welding techniques and be able to work from technical drawings and blueprints to meet project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
· Set up, operate and maintain welding plant.
· Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
· Collaborate with engineers and fabricators to ensure accurate project execution.
· Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
· Troubleshoot and repair welding equipment as needed.
· Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in coded welding, with a focus on quality and precision.
· Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
· Knowledge of health and safety standards in welding.
· Relevant welding certifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, BS EN ISO 9606, ASME IX) is preferred.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with CNC machinery and fabrication.
Familiarity with welding in various positions (e.g., flat, vertical, overhead).
Ability to work with a variety of metals, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
Basic knowledge of metallurgy and welding properties of different materials.
