Job Title: Contract College Admin Assistant & Receptionist

Location: Post 16 College, London Borough of Greenwich

Job Type: Contract, Monday to Friday

Hourly rate: £11 - £15 per hour (depending on experience)

Outstanding Post-16 College located in the London Borough of Greenwich is recruiting an Admin Assistant & Receptionist to start immediately.

The successful College Receptionist & Admin Assistant will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support and front-desk services in this college. The ideal College Receptionist & Admin Assistant will have exceptional organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role requires excellent telephone etiquette and proficiency in maintaining data storage systems. 

You must have an Enhanced DBS or able to pay for a new one quickly and live I commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich.


  • Reception Duties:

    • Experience in a similar post within education
    • Greet and assist visitors, staff, and students in a professional manner.
    • Answer and direct phone calls using proper telephone etiquette.
    • Manage the reception area, ensuring it is tidy and presentable at all times.

  • Administrative Support:

    • Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and scanning documents.
    • Assist in maintaining student records and other important data in storage systems.
    • Prepare and distribute correspondence, memos, and reports as required.
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and events.

  • Data Management:

    • Ensure data is accurately entered, updated, and maintained in the college's database.
    • Assist in the organization and storage of physical and digital files.
    • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.

  • Communication:

    • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
    • Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and external partners.
    • Provide information and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Support Services:

    • Assist in the preparation of materials for meetings and presentations.
    • Support the administrative team with various projects and tasks.
    • Assist in maintaining office supplies and inventory.
