Title: Commerce Data Analyst (Gaming)
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Birmingham
Type: Hybrid (1 day onsite)
Contract: 18 Months
Salary: £265 per day (PAYE)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and develop a deep understanding of in-game economies, sharing insights across teams.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in-game monetization and provide valuable strategic input.
  • Partner with the Monetisation team to deliver critical analyses and insights.
  • Develop and roll out reporting systems to track currency trends and spot optimization opportunities.
  • Provide data-driven insights to balance in-game economies, fostering long-term player retention and engagement.
  • Enhance predictive capabilities to identify new opportunities.
  • Work closely with the analytics team to drive deeper insights and improvements.
  • Own and refine economy reporting assets to provide clarity for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive iterative improvements through data-driven decision-making.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience as an analyst in a commercial role.
  • Strong understanding of digital product analytics, including telemetry and monetization KPIs.
  • Proficiency in SQL and/or Python.
  • Strong analytical skills and expertise in Excel.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work independently from briefing to analysis and presentation.
  • Experience collaborating with data engineers for data asset deployment and management.
Desirable Experience:
  • Proven track record of leveraging data-driven decision-making for iterative improvements.
  • Experience in the gaming industry, particularly with Games as a Service (GaaS), mobile titles, or digital storefronts.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, Databricks, or Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience with economy analysis.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, recommendation systems, and player segmentation.
