Commercial Analyst

Due to growth our Tamworth based client is looking for a Commercial Analyst to join their team. The role focuses on supporting the commercial department through data management, product analysis, and stock control.
\n
Key responsibilities include gathering and analysing market data to assist in product launches and performance reviews, as well as tracking product performance to ensure alignment with business targets. The role requires managing slow-moving and obsolete stock by analysing stock turnover and proposing corrective actions, including identifying products at risk of obsolescence.
\n
Other duties include maintaining customer pricing files, handling promotions, and managing pricing adjustments. Additionally, the role involves evaluating the commercial viability of new products, ensuring they meet target costs, pricing, and margin goals. Providing support across the commercial department, the role requires flexibility to cover other tasks when needed.

As a Commercial Analyst, you will need to have/be:

Role of Commercial Analyst:
\n
\n- Market Data Harvesting - work with the external sales team to gain reliable market data to be used when launching new products and reviewing existing product performance.
\n- Develop and maintain effective methods of storing and analysing relevant market information.
\n- Product Performance Analysis - under the supervision of the Commercial Manager track and report on the progress of new & existing product identifying progress against targets and distributing to all relevant departments.
\n- Slow & Obsolete Stock - review stock levels vs. turnover and identify and review slow moving items and propose corrective actions. As part of the New Product Introduction process, identify lines at risk of becoming obsolete and influencethe phase out such lines and ways of influencing stock holding to mitigate risk against future stock issues.
\n- System Data maintenance - maintain and mange customer price files within the system. Including promotions and pricing adjustments.
\n- Stock management- Take responsibility for reviewing stock levels against forecasts and performance. Generate reports for management and other departments.
\n- New Product Validation - Take responsibility for reviewing the Commercial viability of new products being developed by the Product Development department. Key areas of focus around target pricing / costs, margin expectations as well as forecasts.
\n- Support the whole of the Commercial Department and offer cover for all areas when needed.
