Commercial Contracts Lawyer

We are currently working in partnership with a local authority, who are recruiting for a Commercial Contracts Lawyer on an initial 3-month locum basis. The position is due to start immediately, with both part-time and full-time applicants welcome. The hourly rate of pay is circa £50 per hour via an Umbrella company.The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, and have experience working within local government previously, including managing high-value, complex commercial contracts.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Providing legal advice in regards to varied commercial contracts matters, initially focused on varied corporate/company workDelivering successful outcomes on a wide range of projects, including major transformational development/regeneration works, construction, and creating trading companies and joint venturesReviewing a range of commercial contracts and providing extensive procurement advice to City Council departments, its officers and employeesCollaborating with government departments, national and regional public bodies and the private sectorUtilising the IKEN case management systemExperience required:Experience required in Local GovernmentPreviously managed high-value, complex commercial contractsQualified as a Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX would be desirableWorking hours:Open to full-time and part-time applicantsMonday – Friday Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
