The role As Commercial Finance Director you will be responsible for running our commercial finance function ensuring that, at all levels, our client teams are receiving the appropriate business partnering to effectively service our clients' requirements and deliver on both revenue and profitability targets. You will collaborate closely with our client and operational teams to ensure that existing and emerging revenue streams (including media trading and software contracts) are appropriately commercialised and that we remain both profitable and competitive. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the tools, processes, and analyses used to measure our performance across the group is effective, insightful, and that client teams are held accountable to performance against targets. What you'll be doing We pride ourselves on creating challenging and exciting opportunities, meaning that no two days are the same. However, here's an idea of what your responsibilities will look like: Cross-team collaboration and communication: Your team will work alongside several others in the business. It will be your responsibility to ensure that you work collaboratively with your counterparts in other business areas, ensuring effective communication and that the team operates smoothly as one unit. Commercialisation of our proposition: You will be a key contributor to the commercial strategy of the business, collaborating closely with client and operational teams to identify, design, and appraise models for how these opportunities can be commercialised. Commercial reporting and measurement: You will be responsible for making sure that the tools and processes put in place by the finance team to track our commercial performance (particularly forecasting) is effective. You will then work with that data to ensure the appropriate KPIs & strategy are set and measured across the business. Business Partnering: You will oversee a team providing dedicated and bespoke financial support and insight to our various client teams. You will be responsible for ensuring the service provided by this finance function appropriately empowers and enables the client team. Team management: You will lead a talented team who range in level from Associate to Senior Manager. This will be all-encompassing, from creating and managing their workplans, through to performance reviews and delivering on the job coaching. Business leadership: You will pro-actively be seeking out ways to build our capabilities and profitability and driving those opportunities into reality. This will require collaboration and influence with Directors across the whole business. What you'll need to have / be Chartered accountant from ACA, CIMA or equivalent (preferred). Strong experience in developing and appraising commercial models & opportunities. The ability to think creatively and without relying on established models or principles. Experience in setting and monitoring business performance against KPIs and holding teams accountable to performance. Possess strong influencing and interpersonal skills. Coaching and development experience within a high performing team including significant line management experience. Experience working within commercial finance function of a media agency or tech business (preferred).
