Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the highly respected Commercial Finance team at River Island- one of the most successful fashion brands on the high street. The Commercial Finance Manager (FP&A and Central Costs) is responsible for optimising business performance. Working across senior commercial and finance stakeholders, this role is instrumental in bringing control, efficiency and influencing commercial decisions through key reporting and analysis. Finance is at the heart of commercial decision making allowing an exceptional candidate to significantly influence River Island's performance. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Deliver Planning and Forecasting cycles bringing control & efficiency whilst summarising key messages that influence stakeholders and drive decisions Lead period end Board reporting to influence decision making Identify and drive planning and reporting process efficiencies, streamlining and ensuring fit for purpose Analysis with recommendations to drive improved profitability Business partner central cost teams, including challenge and influencing decisions to effectively manage and optimise investments & resources Work with commercial teams on annual budget and update periodic forecasts challenging assumptions, variances, and suggest areas for efficiencies and opportunities Behavioural Competencies Excellent communication skills and strong team player Combine attention to detail with broader commercial understanding Ability to influence colleagues and business leaders and proactive in driving change Strong analytical skills and in particular can demonstrate the ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations Ability to manage multiple and fast changing priorities Key Experience and Skills: Excellent excel and financial modelling skills Experience working with finance systems and reporting tools eg. planning systems, Power BI ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified 2+ years of commercial or FP&A industry experience This Is For You...
