Overview





We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Gas Engineer on behalf of a national provider of sustainable heating solutions.





Their services include the design, installation, maintenance and management of plant rooms and heat networks on behalf of local authorities, universities, factories, housing associations, private landlords and utility energy suppliers.





As the Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out service and maintenance work on commercial plant and district heating schemes.





This is a permanent position, covering London, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The salary is paying £46k per annum however may consider more for the right person. Other benefits include van & fuel card which can be used for private use, paid travel time, annual bonus, overtime which is paid at x1.66, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, company pension, private healthcare, training schemes and development opportunities. The call out rota is 1 in 8.





Responsibilities                                                                                                                  






  • Day to day responsive and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of commercial heating systems.

  • Response service, fault diagnosis, repair and renewal works.

  • Planned preventative maintenance works.

  • Maintenance and upkeep of Plant Rooms and associated equipment.

  • Take part in an on-call rota and attend callouts (1 week in 8)

  • Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.

  • Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.





Skills & Attributes






  • Valid Commercial & Domestic Gas Qualifications.

  • Experience and knowledge of heating control systems is also preferred.

  • Previous experience in a service and maintenance environment.

  • Understanding of communal/district heating schemes.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.

  • An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.

  • Full UK Driving License.
