My client is looking to recruit a Commercial Lawyer with 2+ PQE to join their expanding team. With offices across London, Surrey and Sussex, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to join at either Solicitor or Associate level. They a well-recognised and highly ranked firm, scoring in the top-tier of the Legal 500 and Chambers UK 2023, across a number of departments, as well as in the top 2% of law firms by The Times (Best Law Firms 2021). As well as this, the firm has been awarded Silver accreditation against the Investors in People Standard for their people management and ensuring all efforts are recognised and that everyone in the organisation feel the effects.

The workload is a mixture of Commercial law and agreements including:

  • IT-related agreements such as SaaS agreements and software licencing;
  • Supply agreements for goods and/or services;
  • Consultancy agreements (inc. IR35 compliance);
  • distribution and agency agreements;
  • NDA's;
  • Heads of Terms.

To be successful in your application, you will:

  • Be a qualified solicitor or legal executive with a minimum of 2 years' PQE in Commercial Law.
  • Have experience in non-contentious commercial legal work.
  • Commercial Law and experience in three or more of the following: IT-related agreements such as SaaS agreements and software licensing; protection and exploitation of intellectual property; data protection and freedom of information; public sector procurement regulations and/or third sector contracting arrangements; corporate support / due diligence together with ability to assist with warranties and disclosures; typical contracting arrangements in the energy and/or waste sectors; or the education sector (including its regulation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide commercially-focused advice to clients.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • A willingness to contribute to business development.
