Commercial Legal Director

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Legal Director to join an award-winning Corporate and Commercial department. This department plays a key role in the firm's ambitious growth plans.  The successful candidate will lead and develop a thriving Commercial team, which currently consists of six fee earners, advising household brand names and owner-managed businesses on a full spectrum of commercial law matters. The role will involve working alongside prestigious in-house legal teams, particularly within the software, manufacturing, technology, and financial services sectors.

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role within a dynamic and forward-thinking firm.

The role is Hybrid based in the companies stunning offices in Farnborough.  The salary for this role is circa £75,000 plus a generous bonus scheme. 

Main Responsibilities for the Commercial Legal Director are: 

• Leading on complex commercial matters, including contract drafting, outsourcing agreements, and cross-border projects in highly regulated sectors.


• Driving business development and client generation, with a focus on expanding the firm’s commercial offering.


• Providing strategic advice to clients, ensuring high-quality legal service delivery.


• Mentoring and developing junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.


• Working closely with corporate and in-house legal teams, providing expert guidance on commercial transactions. 

Key Requirements for the Commercial Legal Director are: 

• 8+ years PQE in commercial law, with experience at a Legal 500/Chambers-ranked firm or equivalent in-house legal team.


• A proven track record in business development, client generation, and relationship management.


• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior lawyers.


• Commercially astute, with a strategic approach to legal and business challenges.


• A passion for innovation and leveraging technology to enhance legal services.
