Commercial Manager (Renewable Energy)

Position: Permanent, Full-time, hybrid working is available.
Location: Washington
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: �70,000 - �73,000 per annum, including car allowance + discretionary bonus.

Role:

The Commercial Manager holds a crucial position in guaranteeing the successful completion of our construction projects. This is achieved by overseeing all quantity surveying operations within the Company. The Commercial Manager is tasked with managing a team of quantity surveyors, coordinating cost estimation, budget management, tendering procedures, risk assessment, and maintaining client relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for a team of 4 including a trainee.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Manage change control process, assess risks, and review contractor/supplier claims.
  • Oversee finalisation of contractor accounts, payments, and cost implications.
  • Manage quantity surveying activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and monitor project budgets.
  • Support tendering process, including reviewing bids and negotiating contracts.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to optimise outcomes and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure construction projects meet quality standards and address any discrepancies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors.
  • Support project teams on quantity surveying matters and address any concerns.
  • Prepare regular reports on project progress, including cost, variance, and risk assessments.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Skills Required:
  • Experience working in a similar job role.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy or construction or facilities management.
  • UK Driving Licence
  • Be happy travelling to the other offices when necessary for meetings.
