Job DescriptionROLE OVERVIEW To support the delivery of HV/LV commissioning activities for industrial & commercial battery & hybrid systems and Electric Forecourt, including solar generation and electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, throughout the UK. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee project commissioning schedules and maintain commissioning logs Liaise with all contractors and subcontractors for pre-commissioning and commissioning Management of area control permits for site access as required Contribute to commissioning meetings and weekly commissioning activities with Contractors and clients Work closely with the project, engineering and construction teams to ensure quality inspection and test plans are completed Contribute to commissioning plans ensuring they are compliant with the appropriate external regulatory bodies Training and upskilling of best practice commissioning activities Reporting progress on all commissioning activities both internally and externally Responsible for witnessing site acceptance tests, authorised person tests, reviewing and controlling HV and LV commissioning switching schedules and ensuring safe coordination of activities as required Responsible for the commissioning of HV components to include protective devices, relays, CTs, VTs, switchgear, RMU’s, Transformers, Substation and ancillary equipment Responsible for G99/G100 commissioning activities, ensuring accurate coordination and the successful connection of the project in line with the targeted dates Sign-off on completion of commissioned activities as per manufacturers processes for successful handover to the O&M team Coordinate contractors to ensure that all commissioning snags are closed out in a timely manner Review commissioning documentation and collect information for the client handover pack Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System, compliant with ISO standards PERSON SPECIFICATION Required Experience Electrical network commissioning experience on renewables and utility scale projects Supervising engineers in electrical substation environments Experience of undertaking all commissioning activities on utility scale projects including setup, management of and executing of the commissioning plan for the project Required Skills and Abilities Knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning practices including switchgear installations Good working knowledge of renewable technologies including battery storage Good understanding of major electrical equipment such as switchgear, relays, CTs, VTs, RMU’s, Transformers, SCADA, Substation and ancillary equipment Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems within utility/PV projects Ability to compile, verify and sign off on testing and commissioning documentation Ability to plan, author, and execute a commissioning process, including commissioning switching schedules In depth knowledge and understanding of electrical safety and competency required for electrical switching operations Working knowledge of SMSTS, IOSH or another equivalent H&S certificate (NEBOSH) Good organisational skills with ability to manage time effectively between multiple technically demanding projects Effective communication and organisation with the ability to work effectively with multiple installers and suppliers Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills Working knowledge of MS Office in particular Word, Excel and Outlook Required Qualifications and Certifications HNC/HND or an equivalent level of qualification within Electrical Engineering Authorised person status from previous work Full UK driving licence
