Compliance & ESG Officer

We are excited to partner with a growing European, renewable energy production company as they look to bring in a Compliance & ESG Officer to ensure the firm meets its internal and external compliance obligations across all activities and in all regions where they operate.
The role would report directly into the COO, whilst also managing relationships with senior stakeholders across wider areas of the business, including the CFO.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Understand the company's compliance-related risk, identifying and prioritising which obligations require the most immediate attention;
Build out a Compliance framework for the business, focusing on high-risk areas;
Identifying compliance requirements, such as GDPR, EMIR, KYC and ensuring the following of these regulations for corporations operating in the jurisdictions the firm operates within;
Working with HR to develop business wide training on their relevant regulatory obligations;
Development of an ESG framework, appropriate for a renewable energy production company;
Lead on ESG reporting requirements from financial institutions the business has relationships with;
Prepare and deliver on the company's Impact Assessment report.
Knowledge, Technical Skills & Competencies required:
Experience in managing a compliance function, ideally within power generation firm, and the regulations affecting firms in this space;
Prior experience of reporting to regulatory bodies;
Have structured and developed ESG frameworks and policies associated to ESG;
Submitted ESG reports to financial institutions;
Ability to manage and influence stakeholders of varying levels;
Ability to speak Dutch or German would be a distinct advantage.
