Durham County Council's Connected Carers Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to providing high-quality support and interventions to children and families facing a variety of challenges, helping them to build resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
About the Role and Responsibilities:
- Supporting Families: Provide direct support and interventions to families, building positive relationships and ensuring they receive the resources and guidance they need to overcome challenges.
- Developing and Implementing Care Plans: Collaborate with families, children, and other professionals to develop individualised care plans, tailoring support to meet individual needs and circumstances.
- Working with Different Agencies: Work closely with other agencies, such as schools, health services, and the police, to deliver effective and timely interventions.
- Engaging with Families: Build trust and rapport with families to promote positive change and support their progress.
- Maintaining Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Contributing to Team Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the team's service delivery.
- Advocating for Children: Represent the needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
- Social Care England registration.
- Updated DBS check.
- Experience working within a Children's Social Care service, ideally within a family support or early intervention setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
- Commitment to child-centered practice and a commitment to improving the lives of children and families.
