In-House Construction (Non-Contentious) Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow Position: Construction (Non-Contentious) Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel - Hybrid / Perm Experience: 4 Years PQE Job Overview: Iconic Resourcing is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Construction (non-contentious) Lawyer to join a leading in-house legal team based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. This role is ideal for a UK qualified solicitor with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) who has a proven track record in drafting and negotiating construction contracts, particularly within the renewable energy sector. About the Company: The company is making significant strides in developing a portfolio of flexible and renewable generation sites, focusing on wind, solar, and battery storage operations. The legal team plays a crucial role in supporting wind project development, acquisition, and construction in the UK and Ireland. Their vision is simple but powerful: to generate a low carbon future by maximising clean, emission-free generating technology and reducing indirect emissions from the supply chain. Key Responsibilities: Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of construction project contracts, including consultant appointments, EPC agreements, O&M agreements, tender documentation, procurement contracts, service level agreements, warranty documents, and performance guarantees. Legal Advisory: Advise on commercial and regulatory issues, risk management initiatives, and monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the group's construction activities. Project Support: Provide legal support to cross-disciplinary teams on strategic projects, including M&A, development opportunities, and related financing arrangements. Dispute Resolution: Offer advice and support to project managers and business teams on contractual issues that arise during project development and construction, including dispute resolution. Policy Development: Assist in the development and audit of legal and corporate infrastructure, including policies, procedures, and standard form contracts. Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will bring the following to the role: Qualifications: UK qualified solicitor with a minimum of 4 years PQE in construction law. Skills: Excellent drafting and negotiating skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience: Practical experience working on low carbon or renewable energy projects, with the ability to multitask, solve problems, and balance competing priorities. Attributes: Adaptable, flexible approach with the ability to manage an allocated workload and work effectively as part of a team. Requirements: Right to work in the UK and possession of a full UK driving licence.
