We have a fantastic opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Manager.



The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall control and management of the Continuous Improvement Programme. Responsible for waste reduction projects, cost savings and process capability improvements.



An overview of the responsibilities:




  • Drive the development of the Continuous Improvement programme to improve engagement and empowerment across the site via effective communication and employee involvement

  • Analyse production and capability data to define Continuous Improvement opportunities

  • Through data analysis, advise the Senior Managers on potential initiatives and areas of focus

  • Plan, document and report on Continuous Improvement projects

  • Support and challenge the Continuous Improvement Champions in the delivery of projects

  • Monitor and measure results and progress of the programme and report as required

  • Maintain business key performance indicators (KPIs) for Continuous Improvement

  • Engage teams to help establish a Continuous Improvement culture

  • Model advanced problem-solving and Lean Leader behaviour and cultivate that behaviour across the site

  • Design, develop, and deliver site-appropriate training

  • Preparation and regular review of Standard Operating Procedures relating to own areas of responsibility

  • Deliver a culture of clear visual management throughout the business

  • Develop and maintain an auditing system to ensure that all Continuous Improvement actions are completed

  • Communicate successes and positive changes across the business

  • Develop and maintain a system to escalate issues identified by the workforce to management ensuring that consistent feedback is provided to all staff

  • Assemble and manage cross functional teams to deliver time critical improvements

  • Promote the Company Employer Brand throughout the local community and the food manufacturing industry.

  • Acting as a role model for all agreed people management practices



Skills & experience




  • Be accustomed to working in a challenging, dynamic and fast changing environment

  • Experience with Value Stream Management tools, Kaizen methods and other key Lean tools and methodologies is advantageous

  • Excellent change management skills

  • Ability to influence managers, stakeholders and project leaders to ensure timely and successful completion of Continuous Improvement projects

  • Good analytical skills and data manipulation with the ability to communicate complex issues simply

  • Ability to devise, implement and manage new processes and procedures

  • Good presentational and training skills

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications

  • Educated in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing techniques
