Contract Data Protection Officer

Role: Contract Data Protection Officer
Location: Hybrid (HQ in Fareham). You will need to be based near to Fareham, for travel to the office and other Hampshire sites as required.
Duration: Initially 3 months (possible extension or temp-to-perm options)
Purpose of role:
The role will contribute to the wider risk management culture, working to review individual risks and associated risk appetite and helping to promote a culture of proactive risk management across the business.
Core Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain data protection policies and procedures.
• Monitor compliance with GDPR. FOI, and other relevant data protection laws.
• Oversee data processing activities and ensure they comply with legal requirements.
• Conduct DPIAs, and audits of practice addressing any issues that arise.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on data protection issues.
• Serve as the point of contact with Supervisory Authorities.
• Manage data protection incidents and breaches, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
• Advise on data protection issues, privacy risks, and mitigation strategies.
