Role: Contract Development Manager
Location: Hybrid, Barnsley (S75 1JN with 2 office days per week)
Salary:circa £49,000 per annum, depending on experience
Role Type:Permanent, Full-Time (37 hours per week - Monday to Friday)

Here at Ancala Water Services, people are at the heart of what we do. As a private utilities company, we are passionate about delivering water and wastewater services to over 1,000 Ministry of Defence sites throughout England and Wales, with every individual playing a key part in our success.
Joining our high-performing Commercial team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of our PFI agreement with the Ministry of Defence. Youll ensure our compliance with all legal requirements and make sure that Ancala Water Services acts in line with the obligations of the contract whilst mitigating risk and driving commercial value. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to deliver high-quality contractual agreements. Youll bring a range of experience within a commercial or legal background and have a high degree of personal accountability and self-motivation.

What Youll Be Doing: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contractual documentation, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements
Investigating and resolving queries throughout contract lifecycle, as well as identifying and mitigating risk
Monitoring contract performance and adherence to T&Cs
Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records pertaining to contracts and related documentation
Providing an advice and guidance service to business-wide stakeholders
Keeping abreast of industry trends and legal developments
What Youll Bring: Relevant law degree or demonstrable experience within a similar role
Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology with the ability to convey this to non-legal colleagues
Strong understanding of MS Office, along with experience of using various applications
Proven experience within a contract development role in a commercial, procurement or legal function
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
Meticulous attention to detail with strong organisational skills and analytical ability
Keen ability to identify areas of risk and to develop solutions to complex contractual issues
About you:
Due to the nature of sites on which we operate, the successful candidate must: Meet the security clearance requirements for the role which includes, but is not limited to, the successful candidate being a full-time resident of the UK for the past 5 years
Ability to obtain Security Clearance which involves a Criminal Record Check and a full MoD Security Application and associated verification processes
You will need a full, valid driving licence and be able to travel independently to sites that may not be on public transport links
