Overview:
Ashton Contracts Ltd is a regional multi trade contractor seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a Contracts Manager for our Ames Taping and Painting division. This role involves overseeing the implementation and delivery of various projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Meet potential clients and manage their expectations.
Serve as the first point for clients and sub-contractors once a site is live.
Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
Manage all aspects of Health & Safety, including preparing site files, RAMS, and Construction Phase Plans.
Produce and manage project programmes.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Organise labour, materials, and plant requirements for each project.
Contribute to work planning and brief project teams, contractors, and suppliers.
Collaborate closely with Quantity Surveyors to track onsite changes and variations.
Order materials and plant in a timely manner.
Attend project/site meetings as the company representative.
Qualifications/Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Full UK Driving Licence.
Relevant building or refurbishment qualification or demonstrable experience.
Health and Safety Qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS).
Level 3 Leadership & Management Qualification or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.
Previous experience in the commercial office sector.
Excellent customer service skills and commitment to meeting client expectations.
Experience managing teams of operatives.
Valid CSCS card (preferable).
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction industry.
Strong technical skills, initiative, and teamwork abilities.
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
Prior to site management experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work without supervision.
Excellent time management skills.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
Strong prioritization and organisation skills.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Strong record-keeping skills.
Ability to multitask.
