As a Civils Site Engineer, you'll ensure precision in setting out, maintain control over groundworks and drainage, and guarantee that every task is completed to the highest standards. You'll be the driving force behind the project’s success, working closely with the on-site teams and senior management to deliver excellence from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting Out: Lead the charge by accurately setting out key elements of the highways project, including earthworks, drainage, utilities, and road surfacing. Your precision will ensure the success of every stage.
* Site Management: Take command of day-to-day operations, supervising site teams, managing resources, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Be the champion of safety on-site, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations, implementing risk assessments, and fostering a safe working environment for all.
* Quality Assurance: You'll be the gatekeeper of quality, monitoring all work to ensure it meets the highest standards, from groundwork through to final completion.
* Progress Reporting: Keep senior management informed with regular updates on project milestones, potential challenges, and innovative solutions to keep everything on track.
* Team Liaison: Work closely with subcontractors, site management, and the design team to overcome technical challenges and deliver outstanding results.
* Surveying & Data Collection: Use your skills to carry out surveys and manage crucial site data, providing valuable insights for design adjustments or project records.
Qualifications:
* Experience: A proven track record with at least 3-5 years of experience as a Civils Site Engineer, particularly in highways or large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Education: A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
* Certifications: A valid CSCS card is a must; SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid certifications are highly desirable.
* Skills: Proficient in setting out using the latest instruments (Total Stations, GPS, Laser Levels) with a solid understanding of groundworks and drainage systems.
* Knowledge: Deep knowledge of civil engineering design principles, quality control, and health and safety standards
