WHO WE ARE
Narrative Entertainment is the largest independent TV broadcaster in the UK with a portfolio spanning Movies, Entertainment and Children’s TV. The portfolio includes linear broadcast channels (GREAT! and Pop Networks), AVOD apps and a range of FAST (Free Ad Supported TV) on major platforms.
WHAT THE ROLE IS ALL ABOUT
An exciting position has opened at Narrative Entertainment for a Contracts Manager, working across content licensing, commercial partnerships and other contractual needs. The Contracts Manager will play a vital role in keeping the business running smoothly and supporting its growth ambitions.
The ideal candidate will be able to interpret rights and deal terms in negotiation phases, ensuring compliance with business guidelines and regulatory policies, licensee requirements and Narrative’s requirements. The Contracts Manager will assist internal and external stakeholders in new and existing initiatives including content deals, competitions, product enhancements and partnerships.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Contracts reviewing and creation:
Drafting, amending, redlining and summarising agreements to ensure it aligns with and complies with Narrative’s needs.
Deal management:
Keep deals database up to date and accurate, allowing to track key deal terms and upcoming renewals in time for renegotiation. Monitor key rights’ asks and incorporate future business needs in renewals.
Data protection:
Conduct DPIA and ensure data protection policies and procedures are in place/followed. Conduct risk assessment for new initiatives.
Commercial:
Assess commercial and legal aspects of new and existing agreements and support contract negotiations, help to identify any risks or future challenges.
External:
Maintain relationships with external legal counsel and liaise with them where legal support is required.
Market and Regulatory Changes:
Stay on top of regulatory and policy changes that impact Narrative’s business. Communicate impact to relevant stakeholders and drive/implement required changes.
General:
Administrative and legal support for ad hoc projects and be the first point of contact for any legal and regulatory queries, including GDPR.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Contract experience, ideally in the media and entertainment industry
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mentality and demonstrate critical thinking.
Able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
A driven, motivated and confident attitude with the ability to use your own initiative.
Keen learner looking to develop their understanding of the media landscape and business growth drivers of a broadcaster and streaming service.
Be highly organised, adept at multi-tasking and flexible with daily or ad-hoc duties.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under time pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
