I am currently working with a Multinational Systems Integration company who are looking to expand their Control Systems Engineering Team in Hampshire. They are a growing business unit and are currently working on exciting projects in the Water industry.

Engineering areas include:

  • Process Control, Software Design, Development & Testing

  • - Onsite Commissioning

    About the role

    An exciting opportunity has become available for a Software Controls Engineer to work in our Water Sector.

    Reporting to the Sector Project Manager, the role is to contribute to supporting and delivering automation projects to the company's key clients. The role will include the development of PLC,, HMI and SCADA software on projects in a fast-paced and evolving industry sector. The role also includes a significant amount of customer-facing duties and site work.

  • Commit to the whole life cycle of delivering projects from start to finish

  • Ability to create great relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues

  • Carry out site surveys and assist with project quotations (engineering time and materials)

  • Advise our customers on automation solutions and "Best Practice" control system architectures

  • Produce and update design documents such as FDS and I/O schedules

  • Produce documentation for site access (RAMS and customer specific forms)

  • Produce and modify PLC, HMI and SCADA software to the agreed design as per customer standards

  • Perform internal testing and Customer Factory Acceptance Tests

  • Carry out on-site commissioning as required by the client

  • Ability to work unsupervised
    About you:

  • Good working knowledge of PLC, SCADA and HMI's for OEM's such as Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Aveva Wonderware and Beijer with an appetite to learn new technologies

  • A good working knowledge of setting up, commissioning, and fault finding of industrial networks

  • Awareness of the standards to be followed in the water sector

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic diagrams from industrial environments

  • 3+ years' experience of reading, programming and fault-finding PLC & SCADA application software

  • Experience of working in an engineering environment

  • Highly motivated, organised, and flexible

  • Positive, personable, and happy team player

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office incl. Word, Excel & Outlook

Must have a valid UK driving license
