About the team:The Controls and Quality Assurance Development Manager offers a great opportunity to work with our new Group Head of Operations First Line Risk supporting the design, development and embedding of risk, control and assurance across the Operations 1st Line of Defence (1LoD).
You will work alongside a small team to ensure the control oversight and monitoring meets regulatory requirements as well as business needs.
This role has the flexibility to be based from our Wolverhampton or Chatham offices with occasional travel required and is a 12 month fixed term contract/secondment. What you will be doing: As Controls and Quality Assurance Development Manager your initial focus will be managing and embedding the RCSA independent assurance testing programme including reporting, management information and control enhancements, working closely with Ops Risk (2LoD) and Operational areas to provide challenge, support, and influence to assess, monitor and improve the control environment.Your responsibilities will include…Ensure effective issue management / corrective action plans are in place with residual risk ratingsConduct lessons learnt on Risk Events, Compliance across the Ops 1st line control environment.Provide guidance, advice and recommendations to Operational Management on the control environment.Stakeholder management and ensure understanding and requirements of the areas in line with control risks.Support building the Banks 1st line assurance community across Ops, IT, Finance and CommercialPreparing decision papers around emerging and realised risks and issues and progress to closure - confident and clear written communicationFacilitate and run workshops with immediate team and across Ops 1st line on RCSA In return for your commitment:We offer a salary of c£46,000 dependent on experience and location in addition to a competitive benefits package:Discretionary annual bonus opportunity of up to 15%28 days annual leave plus bank holidaysContributory pension (8% employer 5% employee)Additional benefits such as Hybrid working, Cycle Purchase scheme, Technology Purchase scheme, Season Ticket Loan, Holiday purchase / sell schemes, Employee Perk Portals, Payroll giving and Save as you Earn scheme.This is a 12 month fixed term contract. Could you be the one?We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:Experience of working in quality assurance including customer outcomes testing / designDemonstrable experience in managing and conducting RCSA programmesIdeally experience in a regulated or Financial Services environment with specialist knowledge and understanding of Consumer DutyExperience of working collaboratively with operational management teamsExcellent attention to detail and ability to produce MI packs, communicating complex information to a wide audienceKnowledge and understanding of risk and internal control principles and frameworks (such as COSO)We believe that your career and how you progress is as unique as your individual personality.
