Controls Engineer – Allen Bradley Specialist



Location: UK – Home based
Salary 60,000 - 70,000 GBP, + O/T, excl benefits, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, 8% pension, extensive training

The Client:
A manufacturer of world class automation solutions to the pharma and medical device world, 300mn global sales, with offices across the globe. They are looking to add to their powerful team a Controls Engineer to contribute to their ongoing commitment to best-in-class solutions to the world’s leading pharmaceutical and assembly clients.



Key tasks:




  • Daily business – Customer support remotely, and direct customer visits across the UK

  • Continuous improvements. - Analyse, code preparation, implementation

  • After delivery support  - help customer to master their equipment to OEE to FAT/SAT standards



Technical requirements:




  • Electrical Engineer (HND, university degree or equivalent) with relevant experience

  • 5 years of AB code writing + debugging, Databases knowledge, other PLC an advantage,

  • C++ an advantage.

  • Good working knowledge of numeric Axis/Drives/Encoder.

  • Good working knowledge of assembly process, such welding, pressing, screwing, measuring, etc.

  • Machine safety knowledge.

  • Good understanding of vision system (Cognex preferably).

  • Assembly high speed machines market experience.



The Controls Engineer holds key responsibilities working alongside the dynamic engineering team to deliver and develop customer specifications and products to create highly complex and innovative assembly concepts based on the companies assembly platforms.



This role requires independence across the UK, with an entrepreneurial mindset supporting the hugely prestigious pharmaceutical client base, these are major contracts are at the highest level and the engineering excellence reflects that.
