Controls Engineer

iO has partnered with an exciting start-up company based near Sheffield that has developed a groundbreaking process for converting methane into hydrogen! We are looking for a Controls Engineer to assist with the design and optimisation of their systems. This is a really exciting opportunity to work for a company involved in green energy, and really make a difference in the world! After a recent investment, they are now looking to grow. As the Controls Engineer, you will have the opportunity to take technical ownership of the PLC control systems and other key elements of the company's technology. Responsibilities:Collaborate with operators to define PLC/HMI requirements.Opportunity to design and implement safety shutdown and ESTOP protocols.Develop remote access functions and create online dashboards.Assist technicians during component installation.Ensure designs and built systems are compliant with legislation and standards.Fault finding and root cause analysis activities.You will need:5+ years working within a engineering environment, with minimum 2 years controls/automation experience.Track record with relevant software for PLC and HMI coding.HND or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similarStrong problem solving skillsExperience working in a highly regulated environment is desired but not essential.
