Job DescriptionThe OpportunityAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a Controls Engineer to work as part of the Commercial Controls Department, based in Leeds.The RoleResponsibilities for this role include:Design and code control systems strategies for HVAC applications using Carel, Trend, Tridium Niagara and Siemens controls platformsTest software using functional test simulators to ensure correct operationProduce project documentation including control philosophies, O&M manuals, functional test scripts, FMEA reports and BMS points listsAttend internal and external client/site meetings as necessary to determine initial scope of works and correct functionality during commissioningWork closely with the Research & Development department to incorporate new technologies and features into projects and report improvements backAssist with training and mentoring of new engineers and apprenticesProvide technical support for site engineers and customers as requiredBe a focal point for customers, helping to resolve any issues and develop our commitment to themMainly office based position as an integral part of the project delivery teamSome site work may occasionally be requiredDesirable Skills & ExperienceHold a technical degree and/or have experience within the field of controls/BMSOR Have served a recognised apprenticeship in air conditioning/refrigeration and have good electrical/mechanical knowledge of HVAC, with a desire to learn the software sideExperience with programmable controllers is desirable but not essential – the willingness and capability to learn is essential.
