Cost Manager
An award winning, property and construction consultancy is seeking a Cost Manager to join their team in Oxford. The role will be a key�part in the continued growth of the service particularly in the retail and banking sector. General cost management experience and skills are required however there are�opportunities�to work alongside our specialist team of mechanical and electrical Cost Managers for you to�develop knowledge and skills in this specialist area.
Role & Responsibilities of the Cost Manager:
- Assist in the evaluation of costs and advise on alternative proposals
- Assist on contract arrangements and conditions under which building will be constructed
- Assist on implications of different construction methods, materials etc
- Provide assistance with the undertaking of pre and post contract work for both End User Clients and Contractors / Sub-Contractors
- Working on energy reduction and sustainability innovations and roll outs
Skills & Experience of the Cost Manager:
- Numerical / maths skills and excellent literacy
- Ability to use your own initiative
- Confidence and good communication skills
- Interest�in using computers for design work, calculations, and testing designs
- A passion for building your career within construction / design
