Are you an adaptable and confident individual looking to gain classroom experience in a secondary school setting? GSL Education are seeking Cover Supervisors to work across schools in Sheffield, providing essential support in the absence of teachers. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with UK classroom experience to develop their skills and make a difference in students’ education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining classroom continuity by delivering pre-planned lessons and managing student behaviour. You will supervise classes across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and on task during teacher absences.

Key Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor (CS):

• Deliver pre-set lesson plans across various subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a productive learning environment.
• Support students in completing tasks and provide guidance where needed.
• Follow school policies and procedures to maintain a structured classroom.
• Liaise with teaching staff to provide feedback on student engagement and progress.
• Uphold high standards of safeguarding and student well-being.

Requirements of Cover Supervisor (CS):

• Must hold a degree-level qualification OR have UK classroom experience.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students across different subjects.
• A flexible and proactive approach to working in schools.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• A passion for education and a desire to support student learning.
