Connex Education are working with schools within Bishop Auckland and surrounding areas who are looking for cover supervisors to suport with day to day or prebooked work. It is essential that you have UK based experience working within a school as a cover supervisor with a minimum of one terms continous work. 

Job Description

– Cover supervisors are responsible for:

• Ensuring that the classroom environment is safe, productive, tidy and harmonious in the absence of the class teacher;
• Keeping pupils motivated to stay on task with any pre-set exercises that their teacher has set;
• Showing pupils the right steps to complete a task;
• Providing any materials or tools needed to complete a pre-prepared task;
• Helping pupils to follow pre-prepared material in accordance with their school’s policy;
• Working across different curriculum areas, including different subjects;
• Communicating with the absent teacher and forwarding the completed exercises to them.

Person Specification

• Experience working in a UK based classroom as a cover supervisor- Must have a terms continuous work 
• Strong classroom management abilities- Essential 
• Confidence working with challenging behaviour- Essential 
• Have a current DBS on the update service - Essential 
• Drives and has access to a car (desirable)
