Position Available: Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning activities and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities for a Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise and manage classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students complete the work set by the teacher.
  • Encourage and support students to stay on task and engage with lesson materials. Offer assistance and answer questions as needed.
  • Maintain classroom discipline in accordance with the school's behavior policies, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Take attendance and keep accurate records of student participation and any issues that arise during the class.
  • Report any concerns or noteworthy incidents to the appropriate staff members. Communicate effectively with students and colleagues to support a cohesive school environment.
  • Adapt to different subject areas and year groups as needed, demonstrating versatility and a willingness to learn.
  • Assist with other school-related activities and duties as required, including supervising during break times or supporting extracurricular activities.

Qualifications for a Cover Supervisor:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in an educational setting or working with young people is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
