A pupil referral unit in Workington, West Cumbria are seeking a Cover Supervisor to support pupils across Key Stage 3 and 4 with the role commencing in October 2024.
The school provides a specialist learning environment for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties ( SEMH ), and class sizes are small - with generally 5-10 in each class.
The school are ideally looking for someone with experience of working with pupils in an SEN or PRU setting, and are able to support pupils who demonstrate challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience and confidence when developing relationships with SEMH pupils.
The school are also willing to consider candidates without experience of working in a specialist SEN school or PRU setting who may have transferable skills, for example supporting adults with additional needs in care/ support work settings or from sports coaching with young people.
The school require a Cover Supervisor to start as soon as possible, on an ongoing, full-time basis until July 2025, with potential of permanent roles becoming available in 2025. Part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate.
The role will involve working school hours from 8.30 - 3.30pm, with rates of pay available from �100 - �130 per day, dependant upon experience.
