GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our client school in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students’ learning and gaining valuable experience in education.

Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. This role is essential for maintaining continuity in students’ education and provides you with the chance to contribute meaningfully to their school experience.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes in the absence of teachers, ensuring students remain on task.
• Support students’ learning by addressing individual needs and adapting to various learning styles.
• Manage classroom behaviour and uphold school policies.
• Assist with preparing and delivering learning materials when needed.
• Communicate effectively with staff and parents regarding student progress and behaviour.
• Monitor and record student attendance and performance to maintain a seamless learning process.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a school or youth-focused environment is desirable.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and support students effectively.
• A proactive and adaptable approach to different classroom situations.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
