GSL Education are excited to be looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to work at a school in Sheffield (S9). As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring students stay on task and follow the lesson plans provided. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and has the ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively. The role offers valuable experience for anyone considering a career in education or those looking to make a difference in a school setting.

Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring they remain on task and engaged with the lesson.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and activities to students.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and respectful learning environment.
• Provide support to students as needed, answering questions and helping with learning tasks.
• Ensure students follow the school's policies and procedures, including health and safety rules.
• Report any issues or concerns to the relevant staff members.
• Monitor and record student progress during lessons.

Requirements for the Cover Supervisor:

• Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different teaching environments and year groups.
• A positive, proactive attitude with a passion for working with students.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to follow lesson plans effectively.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
