Position: Full-time, Cover Supervisor
Location: Secondary School, Bolton
Start Date: ASAP, Long Term

Monarch Education is working with a secondary school in Bolton to recruit a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor to start ASAP. This full-time, long-term role will run until at least the end of the academic year, offering a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for education and supporting students' learning.

The school is looking for an individual who is flexible, proactive, and committed to providing high-quality support to students across a range of subjects. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students stay engaged and continue their studies effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • \nSupervise Classes: Manage classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task and complete their assigned work.
  • \n
  • \nMaintain a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a calm, focused, and productive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and ensures high standards of behavior.
  • \n
  • \nSupport Learning: Provide support to students with their learning, offering guidance and assistance when required, ensuring that all students can access and progress with their work.
  • \n
  • \nEnsure Adherence to Lesson Plans: Ensure that students follow the lesson plans set out by the absent teacher, ensuring a smooth transition between teachers.
  • \n
  • \nConsistent Behaviour Management: Apply school policies and behavior management strategies to maintain a well-behaved and respectful learning environment.
  • \n
  • \nLiaise with Staff: Communicate effectively with the teaching staff and school leadership team to ensure continuity in the delivery of lessons, addressing any issues that arise and providing feedback on student progress.

Candidate Specification:

We are looking for a Cover Supervisor who possesses the following qualities:

  • \nExperience in a school setting (as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role)
  • \n
  • \nStrong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order and focus in a variety of subjects and learning environments.
  • \n
  • \nExcellent communication skills to effectively liaise with teachers, students, and school leadership.
  • \n
  • \nAdaptability and resilience, with the ability to step into different subjects and classrooms with confidence.
  • \n
  • A proactive attitude, with the ability to engage students and encourage a positive learning experience.
  • \n
  • \nA passion for supporting students in their education and a commitment to ensuring they stay on track with their learning in the absence of their regular teacher.
