InterQuest are supporting a Financial Services client who are currently seeking a Credit & Operational Risk Officer to assist in guiding their bank through its transition from the Authorization with Restrictions (AWR) phase to full licensure. Initially, this role will involve close collaboration with fellow risk and compliance professionals to establish policies, procedures, and systems for managing credit and operational risk effectively. The individual in this position will play a vital role within the Risk team, serving as a cornerstone of credit risk management. Your Responsibilities will include: Contributing to the development of credit risk frameworks throughout the bank. Assisting in the design, implementation, and upkeep of comprehensive credit risk policies and procedures. Collaborating with others to shape our credit lending approach, ensuring responsible lending practices and regulatory compliance. Participating in the creation of credit dashboards to monitor performance and key trends. Supporting initiatives for positive customer outcomes (Consumer Duty) and identifying opportunities for automation and optimization. Working closely with product teams to identify and manage credit and operational risks effectively. Assisting in the preparation of relevant management information for senior management and the Board to monitor risk management effectiveness. Contributing to efforts to minimize the risk of consumer harm and promoting positive customer outcomes. Providing support to colleagues in the 2nd line risk team as required. Assisting in identifying potential suppliers of risk management systems and services, such as ERM/GRC. What You'll Need: Prior experience in credit risk management within banking or financial services. Familiarity with customer onboarding processes and Open Banking. Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within a matrix organization. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and prioritize effectively. Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail. Flexibility and willingness to support other 2nd line of defense risk initiatives as needed. Ability to collaborate effectively with operational teams and other departments within the company. Experience working in a team environment to achieve shared objectives and goals. Ability to cultivate relationships with various stakeholders. Previous experience in credit and operational risk roles within financial services.
