CTOT In-House Transport Operations is dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), pupils attending Pupil Referral Units (PRU), and potentially vulnerable adults. Our services play a critical role in ensuring that these individuals reach their places of education and training safely and on time.


The Role:

We are seeking responsible and compassionate drivers to join our team. As a CTOT Transport Children's Services Driver, you will be responsible for conveying children with special educational needs or disabilities and potentially vulnerable adults to their places of education or training during school terms.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize specialist equipment to load and unload passengers, ensuring their safe and timely transport to places of education or training throughout the school term.
  2. Assist management and parents/guardians with timely communication regarding the child and/or educational/training establishment.
  3. Conduct daily vehicle and specialist equipment checks and, working with the Passenger Assistant, ensure health and safety measures are followed for all passengers at all times.
  4. Complete all necessary records, including vehicle logs, risk assessments, and any required reports for the educational/training establishments.
  5. Undertake additional duties as determined by the management team, including assistance with training, commensurate with the grading of the post.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably involving the transport of children or vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to utilize and manage specialist equipment for loading and unloading passengers.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with management, parents/guardians, and educational/training establishments.
  • Meticulous attention to detail for completing daily checks and maintaining accurate records.
  • A commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all passengers.
  • Flexibility to undertake additional duties as required.
  • A valid driving license.
  • A DBS Enhanced Check for Children & Adults will be required.
