We thrive on creating optimal solutions for complex and ever-changing challenges, and we’re currently seeking a Customs Manager to join us! br br The primary purpose of this exciting new role is to ensure the high quality and compliance of Lidl’s customs activity. Leveraging your extensive customs knowledge, you’ll contribute to compliance processes and safeguard Lidl from compliance risk. As a specialist in customs classification of goods and compliance, you’ll also manage a team of experts. Your input as a team player and customs professional will directly impact our operations, stores, and millions of customers. In Customs, no two days are the same, as a Customs Manager, you will constantly be bringing clarity to new and interesting regulatory challenges. We’re proud to be a diverse, secure and fast-growing business, so we’ll make sure you have access to the right training and real opportunities to build your career as well. br br What youll do br br Managing a team of specialist’s day to day including delegation and workload management br Training and coaching members of the customs classification and audit team br Overseeing the process of customs classification and audit team to ensure goods are imported and processed correctly according to trade regulations. br Advising on customs classification procedures and post-clearance audits outcomes br Building import data reports and dashboards br Checking, reviewing, and analysing customs classification and audit data to identify trends, areas of concern and improvement opportunities. br Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and advising on customs classification and audit related issues br br What youll need br br Strong knowledge and experience in the field of customs classification (e.g., HS codes, GIRs, import controls) br Detailed knowledge and experience working with customs import data, and post-clearance audits. br Level 4+ Diploma in International Trade, or other applicable customs and trade certifications and diploma, preferred. br Strong knowledge and experience of the UKEU customs legislation and import process and requirements. br Excise knowledge desirable for the role br Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to manage and develop a team br Analytical mind-set with the ability to analyse large data sets and build dashboards br Advanced user of Microsoft Excel br Excellent organisational skills with the ability to use their own initiative br Highly focused and accurate with an uncompromising eye for detail br Ability to accommodate last minute requests with ease and efficiency. br br What youll receive br br 35 days holiday (pro rata) br 10% in-store discount br Enhanced family leave br Pension scheme br Plus, more of the perks you deserve br br Disclaimer: due to the high volume of applications we receive, we reserve the right to close a vacancy earlier than the advertised date.
