The Engineering and Maintenance team are responsible for the full life cycle of sortation equipment from concept to deployment and onward maintenance within sortation operations at our UK facilities. This includes the forecasting of volume, inclusion within operational planning, process improvement, technical solution design and improvement of equipment reliability.

DHL Aviation are currently recruiting for a Level 4 Engineering Data Analyst Apprentice, to join our Engineering & Maintenance department at our site at East Midlands Airport, on a fixed term contract for the duration of the Apprenticeship. The role will support the Engineering & Maintenance teams with the retrieval and analysis of data, production of dashboards and presentation of data to the Engineering leadership team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Customer requirements analysis
  • Development of engineering data strategy
  • Data channel development and storage
  • PowerBI dashboard creation and maintenance
  • Trend analysis of leading indicators
  • Reporting to engineering leadership driving data based decision making
  • Development of web interfaces and applications
  • Collaborative working with other analysts in the business to develop standard ways of working
  • Support to other analysts within the engineering team
  • Delivery of key data programs within scope such as; sortation fault analysis, stores management, planned preventative maintenance scheduling, resource allocation
  • All employees are responsible for the health and safety of themselves and also those affected by their activities.

Training you will undertake includes:

  • End-Point Assessment (EPA): Project with presentation and questioning,Professional discussion
  • Delivery Method: Online portfolio to update with learning and development, diarised virtual appointments with a dedicated Learning Coach, attendance to training sessions, workshops, masterclasses (online)
  • Additional training to take place to develop knowledge, skills, and behaviours in accordance with this Apprenticeship standard

Qualifications that you'll gain:

  • Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship standard

  • Flexibility with working hours may be required. We operate 24/7 and you may occasionally be asked to work outside of your normal working pattern

You’ll bring to this role:

  • GCSE (or equivalent UK Level 2 qualifications) at Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths
  • Ideally Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Evidence of certificates must be provided
  • Strong Numeracy skills and IT knowledge
  • Confident communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to work off own initiative
  • Problem solving abilities and analytical skills with creative and logical thinking
  • A safety first attitude
  • You must conduct yourself in an orderly manner within the workplace, ensuring that correct uniform and PPE is worn when required.
